East Riding Local Area Agreement

A major challenge for LSP's is the development and implementation of Local Area Agreements (LAAs). The advent of the East Riding LAA provides new challenges for the LSP as it can require difficult decisions to be made by partners in order to drive forward local public service improvements.

LAAs are, in effect, the delivery mechanism for an area's Sustainable Community Plan and set out the priorities for a local area negotiated by central government (represented by Government Office for Yorkshire and The Humber) and the East Riding (represented by the LSP). The LSP also provides the governance framework for the delivery of the LAA, ensuring the identification of cross-cutting links and partner engagement to help secure the successful achievement of targets agreed in the LAA.
